Effective stakeholder engagement runs through the Product Owner as information, not as a direct command over the Product Backlog's order. The manufacturing supervisor's report is exactly the kind of input a Product Owner should welcome — a calibration step causing floor errors could be masking a quality risk that eventually reaches customers — but 'automatic top of backlog' treatment isn't how ordering works; it would let whichever stakeholder speaks last or loudest set direction, which is the same failure mode as letting a single retail or support voice bypass the Product Owner. The Product Owner's job here is to ask enough follow-up questions to understand impact and urgency, then weigh that against a firmware safety item, a retail deadline, or a certification gate already in the backlog. Dismissing manufacturing input as out of scope because it isn't a customer-facing feature is also wrong: anything affecting the product's ability to ship reliably belongs in the Product Owner's view, even when it originates on the factory floor rather than in a feature request. And this isn't Scrum Master territory — the Scrum Master supports the Product Owner's effectiveness with stakeholders but doesn't make backlog decisions.
