GitHub Enterprise Server Statistics is an optional feature available when GitHub Connect is configured. When enabled, it sends anonymized, aggregate statistical data from the GHES instance to GitHub.com. Data collected includes aggregate counts such as: total repositories, users, organizations, GitHub Actions workflows and minutes used, GitHub Packages usage, and Dependabot alerts. This data does NOT include any personally identifiable information, repository content, code, or specific user activity. GitHub uses this data to understand how GHES is used in production to guide product development decisions. Administrators can opt-in or opt-out of server statistics through the GitHub Connect settings. It is distinct from license seat reporting (which is a separate compliance function).
