A secure web gateway sits on staff egress. Leadership asks which clerk visited a phishing lure URL. Why do proxy or Web logs beat raw NetFlow alone?
Select an answer to reveal the explanation.
Short Explanation
NetFlow is the highway sensor: who talked to which IP on which port. The proxy is the street-address book—it saw the actual lure URL and often the clerk's identity.
Full Explanation
URL-and-user browsing questions belong on proxy or secure-web-gateway logs, which typically include URL, category, and authenticated user and map to the CIM Web model. Raw NetFlow or similar flow records usually provide 5-tuple connection metadata without the URL. Proxy data is CIM-mappable; lure URLs are not stored in SCADA historian tags. Prefer Web telemetry when the civic question is which clerk visited which URL.
